Trying to watch Indian shows, Bollywood films or IPL cricket from China usually stalls at one of two points: the platform won't load at all, or it opens but says "this content is not available in your region." This guide explains both problems and the fix.
Why You See "Not Available in Your Region"
Streaming platforms decide what to show based on your IP address. SonyLIV and Hotstar only offer partial catalogs outside India; Prime Video works globally but its library is strictly regionalized — Indian originals stay in the Indian catalog.
On top of that, platforms maintain datacenter IP blacklists. Most commercial VPNs use hosting-provider IPs that are already flagged. That's why "I connected a VPN but still can't watch" is so common — your traffic reaches India, but the platform instantly recognizes it as server traffic, not a viewer.
What Matters: Exit IP Type

Mobile exits are the most reliable because their IP ranges are shared by hundreds of millions of real subscribers — platforms have no reason to block their core audience.

Test Before You Pay

- Evening peak (20:00–23:00) streams HD smoothly
- IPL match windows stay stable
- Every device you actually use is configured correctly
Only then pick a plan — never pay for a line you haven't seen working.
